at the newspaper where i work, we've got the same type of system going. one of the fun bits is seeing how long some of the obits sit in the system before they're used. in several cases, the writer has died before the subject. the other obit folly is when someone's close to shuffling off this mortal coil, so a page is prepared. once in a very blue moon, that page has actually been sent to press prematurely. makes for interesting corrections.
