This is a question Workplace Boredom

There's got to be more to your working day than loafing around the internet, says tfi049113. How do you fill those long, empty desperate hours?

Whistle while you work?
I find that no matter where you are, preferrably a public place though I do it at work with mates now and then. The concept is to whistle the quality street tune (Perry Como - Magic Moments) and wait. I guarantee someone will whistle the same tune after you. Record is six people in the space of a 45 minute bus journey. If they just whistle it doesnt count, has to be the same tune!

Absolutely
We do something similar to this at work, although as there's only 3 or 4 of us we play it slightly differently. We've noticed that one member of staff in particular is more susceptible to the whistling than others, so we try to get him to whistle as many tunes as possible throughout the day. Anything memorable will do, usually TV show themes (Jimbo and the Jet Set, Muppets, ), films themes (the title music to Terminator, the Cantina Theme from Star Wars) or just well known songs that usually have some sort of gay connotation (YMCA, In The Navy, Macho Man).

Yes!
And the old building site trick of seeing how long it takes a whistled tune to get from one side of the site to the other.

In the same vein...
Sing at the top of your voice "RUBY RUBY RUBY RUBY!" in a large public place. Someone is guaranteed to do the "Aaa-aaa-aaa-aaa-aaa-aaaaah" bit.
