I just put my house up for sale.
And is there any good reason I should care what 'going straight edge' means?

Are you going to be staying in Cambridge?
Or have your new overlords made you a better offer?

Staying in Cambridge.
We've got our eye on a big wreck. Sale price: one small fortune. Cost of required work: another small fortune.

Not Syd's old place is it?

Funnily enough we did look at that
but there's something odd going on with inheritence or something that looked a bit dodgy.

The place we're looking at is much more of a wreck.

Punks that don't drink or smoke
and there is not a little religeous input too in some cases, although all the straight edge people i know seem to still be fond of violence but now in a self riteous 'but i don't drink / consume drugs way'

"straight edge"
sounds like an attempt at making abstinence somehow 'cutting'.

Definately not punk, thanks
And no, I just want to get healthier. I may decide against it in a year or two, who knows? Violence is not my thing anymore either.

Except all straight edge bands ARE punks
ie Fugazi et al.

Give it to me.
I'll look after your vegetable plot.
