Jesus, I thought you were night-shift.
Well, in work we deal with sending down rapists- we collect and organise the forensic evidence and blah blah blah, I reckon that for every 10 requests we get to go to court, six are for rapes, three are for drink-drives and the others vary.

My cousin was raped and they never convicted the guy because she had been drinking.

We had one the other day, where samples were reuqested from the victims friend, as she'd had sex with the rapist directly AFTER the rape- so, she'd contain both the suspect and victims DNA if he'd raped her. He did.

Yup. We should be dealing with the court-case soon too, he'll probably be sent down.
Thing is though, cases can take over 8 months to build before they get passed to the CPS.
