I don't want to vote for a party,
I want to vote for my representative. I hate parties. And I'll cry if I want to.

Enter yourself.
Vote for yourself. Don't come crying to me if your neighbours don't think you're all that great.

No way would I vote for myself.
I don't think I'm all that great, either.

Sorry, back to this one.
All the elected MEPs will be your representative, and just hold your hand over the candidate list so that you can only see the 1st choice candidate for each party - then it will be just like a normal election.

yeah except not really,
that's like playing pretend. Actually it's one of the worst bits, if the major parties are practically guaranteed to get at least one seat, it means their first choice of candidate will definitely get into parliament, which effectively means the party appointed them and the entire election was pretty much irrelevant. The battle is only really fought over candidates #3 and up.

I just think this sort of PR is stupid rubbish. STV is alright, although unfortunately it seems to be a bit beyond a lot of people.

Right then, use two hands or a craftily cut piece of paper to cover the two certainties and all bar the first remaining choice
on each party's candidate list.
