Cheesecake has 'cake' in its name
Therefore it is cake.

If I get a digestive buiscet and put on it some philly and strawbery jam, that wouldn't be a cake.
And therefore, I'm exlcuding that kind of cheesecake.

I would say it's more of a dessert

We shall leave cheesecake as a grey area I think.
Like the jaffa cake, the age old debate. Cake or biscuit?

It's a cake obviously.
As it has no bicsuit in it, only biscuit sized. It's sponge.

A cake the size of a lasagne is still a cake, not a lasagne.

McVitties have been arguing it is a biscuit for years.
There is no VAT on biscuits but there is on cakes.

When stale, cakes go hard, biscuits go soft
Jaffa cakes go hard, therefore they are a cake
