U GOT KINDLE?

(, Sun 14 Aug 2011, 11:15, archived)
I hart Kindle

They should calle the Kindle a Windle because people who have one are Winners and you only have to change one letter to say that, but then change it back to Kindle because people who have kindles are kind.
or something like that.

I really think they're ace, if I didn't read it on my ipad, I'd get one.

I love mine
battery lasts ages, it's small, light and pretty hardy. And you can store thousands of books on it. Wintimes.

I made the mistake of putting hundreds of books onto mine when i got it,
soon removed most of them when i realised that there's no way to quickly look through them.

You've just given me a great mental image.

Perhaps that's the reason Waterstones wasn't looted,
all the kids have Kindles.

hah

Sort them into collections.

(, Sun 14 Aug 2011, 13:14, archived)
It's still slow as hell.
Not that it matters anyway, i don't need to carry hundreds of books around with me.
(, Sun 14 Aug 2011, 13:17, archived)
I've never understood the putting hundreds of books on,
but then it can take me six months to read a book. I shove all the ones I have read into a collection so that they aren't cluttering up the home screen, and I have another collection for guide books. That's all I need.
(, Sun 14 Aug 2011, 13:19, archived)
I delete once i've read them, generally i'll only have 3-4 books on there.

Edit: six months to read a book?
(, Sun 14 Aug 2011, 13:21, archived)
That's just the modern version of burning books.
You're no better than Hitler.

Also, not always six months, but I'm not a particularly fast reader and I'm easily distracted.
(, Sun 14 Aug 2011, 13:26, archived)
Get one anyway.
Reading on a Kindle screen is a world away from reading on an LCD screen.
(, Sun 14 Aug 2011, 13:15, archived)
Although I know exactly what you mean, I don't have any problems with reading from the ipad screen, I put the brightness down (which doubles as a battery saver) and in the kindle app they don't use black'n'white (unless you want too) as the contrast is to
high for the eye on an LCD at prolonged periods.

WILL ORDER ON PAYDAY----FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Until then the first person to get a celebrity to retweet "I like grapes. Please RT." wins a million pounds.

You can get loads of books on torrents
just type in Kindle or ebook. Use something like Calibre to convert formats.
(, Sun 14 Aug 2011, 11:23, archived)
I would never be so dishonest.

(, Sun 14 Aug 2011, 11:24, archived)
Me neither
I'm just saying, if you were.

Kindle killed the book-writting star (oh ohhhh) Kindle killed the book-writting star (oh ohhh).
I'm aware of the word 'author', it just doesn't fit here.
(, Sun 14 Aug 2011, 11:29, archived)
authoring would work
scans better too
(, Sun 14 Aug 2011, 11:39, archived)
Totally downloading Calibre as we speak.

(, Sun 14 Aug 2011, 11:30, archived)
Calibre is really useful, also some sites for anything you can't find as a torrent.

pff.
Amazon are really good at replacing Kindles apparently. I bought one of the dodgy cases and they replaced it with a more expensive one, with no questions asked.

Unless that guy dropped it in a pool or something.
(, Sun 14 Aug 2011, 12:05, archived)
