Hmm. That changes thingsManchester has some great galleries, bars, restaurants, the waterfront in Liverpool is well worth a visit but The Kelvingrove in Glasgow is hands-down the most bonkers place I've visited in terms of art exhibits. I'd go back there for that alone. Brighton is shabby but fun.
