I persuaded the kids to let me release the frog that we've kept since it was a tadpole back into the mother in law's pond today.
We let them keep it when the rabbit died but now they have a hamster so they've lost interest and feeding it has been a pain in the arse. I ended up having to buy a culture of wingless fruit flies and then filling jars with rotting fruit and flour and the flies kept escaping.

Basically amphibians are hassle, why not turn her into something useful instead?
