I watched the 1st episode of allo allo the other day
it had all the jokes in that one single episode that sustained the rest of its run. and it was awful.

Some of the old sitcoms they repeat on BBC4 have held up better than I remembered them originally being,
Keeping Up Appearances in particular. Hardly groundbreaking, but written and performed well.
