the Madrid Metro is horrific - the high temperatures are okay above ground are bearable in the dry heat but the moment you go underground and it becomes humid it's quite another matter.

I've been told to avoid Madrid specifically in the summer.
Málaga the first time was pretty brutal; Zakynthos was alright because we were a stone's throw from the sea.
