Your picture is too large for the board though I'm afraid- try saving it as a gif (because there are not too many colours in it).
This may help. BMPs aren't really suitable for the web, you see.

Hello new person! :) What people are trying to say is:
Save your files as jpegs, or small pngs etc. Bmps are a bit big. 50k is a good size for still images.
If you read the b3ta FAQs it will give you loads of handy tips like this! Yays! Go read it, absorb it, and come back soon :)

what image program are you using? cos what you need to do is save it as a png or a gif- if you're using the gimp then just saving it with a .png extension should work, if you're using mspaint then file -> save as, and choose the .png option at the bottom of the window. if you're on photoshop, use "export" or "export for web"
