B3ta Interviews Brian Blessed
I made this!
I phoned the great man with your questions and this is what I got. It's quite long and rambly, you might want to copy it onto your MP3 player and go for a walk.

I'm not sure my headphones will be able to cope with the inevitably dangerous sound levels
What an awesome interview, a b3ta highlight for sure.
Well done chap for arranging and handling.
But you need to sort your laugh out :D

Aw, I think it's a nice laugh.
Perhaps not as good as Brian's, but still lovely.

Oh, wait... I just got to the laughing bit near the end.
Okay, it's a little like an old bed being shagged on...
In a nice way?

I do agree - if someone wants to do one
then I'd make it part of the site etc.

I saw him at a speech day at a local school
Highlights included several roars of "Gordon's Alive!", a lengthy discussion of mining the moon, and a rousing finale consisting of attempting the "once more unto the breach" speech, forgetting a line, and having it shouted out to him by someone in the audience. What a guy.

Thanks Rob!
A brilliant interview with a truly original character.
I'll echo one of the other comments here: He really does sound like a normal chap - down to earth...

Sat Nav Launch
We're running a little page to take us up to the launch, get yourself on there, there's some competitions to keep everyone amused and maybe win some Blessed prizes (mostly signed Flash Gordon stuff). Rumours of an outtakes video from the Sat Nav recording session abound, but I couldn't possibly comment.

One of my friend's nephews once took Blessed's daughter on a date.
After arriving at the house, he was taken aside and told:
"Now, we both know you're only here for one thing."
... awkward pause ...
"To hear me say GORDON'S ALIVE!"
(I've been told this is true :¬)

That was wonderful! He's such a really lovely man, who clearly has no problems admitting he has to grease his balls prior to an expedition! Hahahaha.

Well, listened to 5 minutes. Mostly because it's late. Definitely something to put on at a more convenient time though - nicely done!! The guy sure can talk, but then what do you expect ;) Very nice of him to have a good chat with what to him (not to us, naturally!) is probably just some weird person from some weird random site on the internet. Good chap.
(*clicks* may seem premature but I can't see it ending any other way)

I was an stunt bloke..
... on a film years ago, which Bri and Ollie Reed were in - Brian is the most lovely, mad, sweary, gentle, hardcore bloke I've EVER met. A gem of unimaginable value, I have several very bold memories of him, least of all in the pub or doing 500 pressups in the morning. I feel very honoured to have shared air with him :0) :0)

You get a click. Although I'm sure you can 'self click' so to speak.

ah good old Brian,
he's such a legend!
I'll be posting up an animation me and my mate did of him soon, which we did for our quiz show. It was a 'live link up' with the man, and left the audience agog ;)
top interview with him though, it's so warming the way he signed off with lots of love. Cause you know he meant it.
