Do it again. But this time remember to rub the octopus in flour after the frying stage...
...and then dipping it in the chocky.
I'm timing you.

wouldn;t flour work better before frying?
so it would go all crispy and lovely - if i put it on after frying surely it would be all sticky raw floury?

Should have used baby squid, much better for dipping and you could join them together for a "squidders" bar.
Side note, my local restaurant makes baby squid in a rangeen sauce which is bloody gorgeous.

the main problem with squid for this recipe
is that it doesn't have any pun value when combined with chocolate. i wonder what i'd do with baby squid?

Hmm.
Squid with wagon wheels - Squeels. Baby goat stuffed with squid - Kiddy Squiddler. Squid coated in Ronseal - Squidron.

'Barftopus'
Reminds me of when we bought a chocolate fountain for the daughters birthday. At the time, chocolate and tomatoes rated as the lads number one food. He actually suggested a 'chocolate tomato', straight faced. All excited he went off to the vegetable drawer and came back with, holy of holies, a Cherry Tomato! He deftly immersed it in rich, dribbly ,milk chocolate. Bit into it and immediately went to barf. Life lesson learned ,right there.
