A story about how two brothers stole their fathers 1969 Norton Commando, had it restored and then gave it back to him for Christmas.
if you have a spare 15 Minutes, it's a great video

and I'm not ashamed to admit the last 5 minutes had me very teary eyed. An excellent story.

I was a bit skeptical about whether it was a good idea until I saw his face towards the end, but clearly was.

Nice to have such a loving family, if I did this for my Dad he'd call the Police and have me arrested for stealing the bike in the first place ;)

make a heap of business for the classic bike experience. I wonder if they did the restore for free?

What a lovely heart warming 15mins to start a grey and wet Friday.
Its just such a shame he died in a horrific accident after snow/Norton bike interface issues...

Good that some people have such deep feelings for each other.

...in the UK police force. He loved them - I'd have killed to have been able to do what these guys did. Good job, top bike, great story.

Few things make me tear up. But this was so ridiculously moving. Those two men must love their father so much, it's such a well thought and heartwarming gift. No doubt it was expensive, but for the sentimentality, it was completely worth it for their aging father.
10/10. Beautiful. Vintage bikes are ace. And the story behind it makes it perfect.

It was a full race one we'd had in the family from the mid '70s. If you're interested a picture is here :

and the fuller story is via a link above the pic on that page.
It made £8000 for the fund, but I'm still missing it terribly...
Ho hum.
