This is a question Things I've gone off

Spimf says: I've always enjoyed listening to Pink Floyd, but lately I've noticed if my iPod plays any of their tracks, I skip them. I'm starting to realise I've gone off them. What have you gone off lately?

All my old cars.
A lot of people love older or classic cars. I think most of them now look dated and shite. Over the years I've moved from Vauxhalls, Rover, MG's on through to Mercedes and BMWs. Every one I bought because I thought they looked fantastic at the time.

Now I look back and just think they look pretty crap compared to the shiny latest models. I am currently driving an 8 year old BMW which I now hate but can't afford to replace at present.

I think the only one that remains timeless is my old Honda Accord that was typically filled with massive drugs.

Did shiny new beasts but now I prefer bangernomics.
Pretty much all new cars are fantastic compared to the crap of my youth.

The kids getting their first 'old bangers' nowadays don't know they are born...
Multi speaker sound systems, Air con, electric everything, working brakes.... fancy stuff.

The phrase 'wind down the window' is lost on them.

And models
Pretty ones. Who are girls.

my 1996 'flying wedge' volvo 850

My first car had a manual choke and when you opened the bonnet you could point to the five or six basic components of an internal combustion engine.
Other than the engine block I have fuck all idea what anything is in my current car. And it doesn't even have a handbrake or a speedo.

I read that as, "my first cock opened my bonnet."
I was assuming bonnet as a euphemism.

I know exactly what you mean,
as soon as a new model comes out, the old one immediately looks horribly dated to me.

But there comes a point at which that stops. I quite like a lot of older cars, classics are obvious but some more recent stuff - I am planning on buying a toy at some point, and things like the Nissan 300zx aren't totally out of the question. Also that mad Australian V8 vauxhall thing, that's only about 7 years out of production, but I'd definitely consider one of those.

Ah yes the one based on the Holden.
An ex work colleague who drove a 1.2 Corsa over in the UK became an Australian Copper who now drives a V8 Holden as a patrol car. He says there's not a lot who can outrun it.

That's even better.
Someone else paying for the gas.

Honda CRX........
...........would be my choice of toy. The two seater VTI with removeable roof. I had one years ago & loved it. Rock solid engine, and being a distant relative of the Accord, would naturally be able to hold massive amounts of "golf clubs".

If you are making sheds of cash toilet trading then you should be able to get something
a lot better than a Nissan 300ZX, the boys making turbines on CNC machines for Rolls Royce engines run better cars than a Nissan 300ZX. Are you loaded or not? Don't come babbling about £30K a year being mean and not be able to afford a bloody Nissan or the Vauxhall Monaro, which new was £28,000.

Here you go tight arse, www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2007-VAUXHALL-MONARO-6-0-V8-VXR-SILVER-MUSCLE-CAR-9-850-MILES-PRICE-REDUCED-/181197296244 less than £11,000

I wouldn't call any of those classic, personal taste and that. But wouldn't you want a PROPER classic car?
