Every time I remove a book from my Billy bookcasesomeone says 'Zoooooool!'. Quite disconcerting, and the shop helpline refuses to advise.

The problem you have there, is that it's a bookcaseThey create their own reality field anyway. See Teryy Pratchetts' theory of "L space" for full explanation :)
