The options are:
1) Fly to Madrid and try to navigate her way up to Bilbao and get a ferry back from there, which will be a nightmarish journey of epic proportions and about the most stressful thing she could put herself through
2) Stay put and hope the airline can fly her out relatively soon - apparently they have booked her on a flight of Friday, but whether that takes off or not is uncertain...anything later than that and she'll start to get quite seriosuly ill :/

my auntie may be able to drive out there but even so we need to get my mum from Tenerife onto the mainland
