how can you handle that droning! a few seconds about drives me insane!

after a few minutes you hear the inner melodies and the stories it tells.
Plus it's got 2 parts, a wav file and a flash file which are not synchronised so an endless variation of composition is assured.

after a few minutes, your mind starts to compose its own music around the 'evil noise' (as Berk so succinctly put it) to compensate and keep you sane

rather than the overbearing noise.
It's like walking into a pitch black room, you are overwhelmed by the absence of light but you become accustomed and start to notice subtle differences in the uniform darkness as your brain filters out the stuff that remains black and picks up on the lighter parts of it.

I went back and tried it
and I can hear it, but I still don't think I can listen very long
/how long is the loop. I was just about to close it, but I think it just changed. Or am I imagining things?

your conscious mind can carry on doing stuff and your subconscious can be 'lulled' to a relaxed state by it.
The windowlicker wav loop is just a few seconds - maybe 6 or something might be up to 10, but the kitty flash loop is shorter I think and so they don't synch up and as I say they produce together an ever changing soundscape. They load at different times each refresh too so there's no common starting point for both of them.

I try and bridge this gap with google a lot of the time, but occasionally i'll just say thing's that come to me and not really understand them at the time, but will later find them to be very inciteful and intelligent. It's like running with a news story on the frontpage before you've checked it out.
That said, the strange way that I to very often seem to be right 'for the wrong reasons or for reasons I wasn't fully aware of' has left me able to feel comfortable with just 'running with the story'.

I usually just end up sounding like an idiot.
Oh well. I'll believe you, until proven wrong ;)

I just said what I saw and then was called on it and needed to try and prove it, so I went to google and looked for a cow with a light on it...
(the link in there was an embedded image but I changed it when it went off into the spazz because it wasn't hosted on my server)
The kitty flash actually does a bit of injustice to the windowlicker (Aphex Twin) loop, I've had that in my profile for over a year it was one of he first sound looped profiles here. If you have a proper seamless looping wav player put this in it www.fnord.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/lickerfnord.wav I made the loop seamless then when i made an mp3 of it it messed up the end of the file, so I ended up leaving it as a wav.

I don't feel like moving all the way over to my PC at the moment, and I don't know how to do that kind of stuff on my mac yet.
I'll save these links this time, and check them out at school where I have the magical ethernet.

and have it blank except playing the wav file, you don't need to upload or download anything
just a text file with the code saved as a html document doesn't need to be on the internet can sit on your desktop.

bgsound src="http://www.fnord.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/lickerfnord.wav" loop="-1"
then save as a html file and open it in your webbrowser.

I'll play with it tomorrow. I've been awake for almost 24hrs now. I don't feel like fiddling with it now.
