When the pilot says "This is Captain Smith in the cockpit"I like to shout "No! Not Captain Smith! Not Vodka Smith with the shaky hands/invisible friends/voices that only he can hear!" That livens things up no ends, and introduces a playful air to calm the nerves of those who are scared of flying.

London -> Seattle, 1995Flew on Saturday, was fine till Wednesday, when my system shut down at lunchtime. (You know... 'where am I... who am I...') I had to beg out of a meeting at the Axis of Evil HQ (aka MS), head for the hotel and crash. embarassing.
