The first f in my name is not silent and the second one isn't either. It's pronounced as you would except, it's just not a common string of letters.

fnord rhymes with poured.

Since coming to visit my 5 year old niece calls all cats "Fhunnooord".

as in "Look it's a Fhunnooord"

I did it just to corrupt young minds.
