yep, they are quite common where i live
and have even been seen on occasion in my garden... however, my photography skills are sadly lacking, so i have never managed to capture a decent pic of one

Crikey, they're spreading.
Used to get them only around heavily-bombed towns after WW2 (Reading just looks like it was heavily bombed). Very nice. I do miss hearing them in the morning with their weirdly static calls.
