I see it as one giant persecution complexThey've been picked on for the last few thousand years - slavery, persecution, getting driven out of countries, genocided - and now they finally have a stable powerbase of their own they're unleashing 3000 years of pent-up frustrations. Doesn't help when their country was carved out of already-taken land, meaning their neighbours utterly hate them too.
