# Ah, so your country has a reciprocal agreement with us on healthcare?
Well, then you can pay your medicare levy. However, as you're foreign, you must also buy private health cover. Oh, also because you're foreign, you can't buy it at the same rate as the locals can and if you get sufficiently ill, then there's a clause in there saying we'll deport you, regardless of whether you'd be covered for any medical care in your home country.
Cheers,

The Australian Government.

# Ah yes, mining...
Exporting uranium to everyone else, but having a fit at the idea of having nuclear reactors here and burn coal instead.
I was trying to get security clearance at ANSTO, but gave up. A test reactor that barely generates enough heat to light a fart (well separated from the area I'd be doing experiments in) and yet they want to do a security check almost as thorough as that expected if I worked at the AWE where they make buckets of instant sunshine.

(Sorry, couldn't miss the opportunity, although that's another awesomely shit thing to do to overseas citizens.)

# Heh heh!
So far, no-one's done the 'love it or leave it' bit.
Nah, I do like it here very much, but sometimes feel a bit put on. Not nearly as bad as another place I lived, though...
How're things over the road? I'm bored shitless at work at the moment.

# My office has spung a leak.
I'm glad the semester is over, I was pretty sick of teaching. I think all I'll have to do is a couple of consults for some students/mates who may want to harass me. But the uni is going to be oh-so-much quieter.
