I met Lily Cole and Stephen Fry signed my ticket.
Plus I got overnight accom at a 5-star hotel.
Which excuses everything as far as I'm concerned.

None of it did, since every version of Hitch-Hiker's has always contradicted every other version.

So why did I hate it, even though it had Zooey Deschanel and Martin Freeman in it? (And I'd go gay for Martin Freeman and go straight again for Zooey Deschanel.)

Because of the ending. It makes no sense. Hitch-Hiker's never had much plot but at least it *almost made sense*. The ending of that film makes no fucking sense whatsoever. If they could rebuild the Earth and reset it to a second before it went why in God's sweet name would the mice need Arthur's brain? They wouldn't. The whole fucking POINT of getting at his brain was because they'd have to rerun the whole multi-million year program. But no, someone had to change that to have a nice happy uplifting ending. Yeah well FUCK your fucking happy uplifting ending, it does NOT MAKE SENSE.
