
The woman who threw the cat in the bin didn't give a toss about the poor cat and the 15 hours of hell it went through, but of course the public backlash was more so because of the media hype, however if nothing had come of it she would have gone around thinking it's perfect normal behaviour to treat animals in such a way.
I don't feel in the least bit sympathetic towards her but that's not to justify the media circus that it became.

In reality a lot of people dislike this woman, but would merely give her a wide birth, a sore look or maybe the withering 'tut' of disgust. Death threats on the internet are 2 a penny yet we don;t live in a society were people are horrifically murdered because 4chan doesn't like them.
