Actually I can get the series on DVD from NetFlix, but I don't know what the best seasons are

This episode was season 6. I think it was best around Seasons 3-4-5 but really I can't pick out a bad episode.

Shit yeah, glad you like! much to enjoy. First three albums are best, with the original drummer.
Do NOT bother with the last album "Love and Paranoia", that should have been cut down to an EP maybe..
they are working on a new one so I'm optimistic for a return to form. The compilation "Jingles" is a good representation if you want a best-of.
this boppy little ska number (with a fucking french horn instead of trombone!) comes from "Mish-Mash", their Band in a Bubble album - recorded in a perspex box over Melbourne with the interference of a couple of radio personalities.. finally been uploaded to youtube:
MY EGO

He sounds like Mike Patton here, but slightly less insane.
And here I'm getting Trent Reznor!
I'll be checking my local music stores!

also:
"Romance of the Damned" - pretty decent emo/80s riff
"Drinking Beer Is Awesome" - dumb and two dimensional but still fun
"Sun Comes Through My Window" - 38 seconds of samba school (this album was recorded in Brazil)
"Ad Spot" - another 30 seconds of silliness
"Michelle" - corny little pop ballad
"Destroy This Town" - rocking, kind of flat but more like their mid-period work
the other five tracks just sound like everything that was wrong with mid-nineties antipodean pop-rock (I'M LOOKING AT YOU SHIHAD, TADPOLE, AND THE REST)

as far as Beatles-ish-but-not-shit bands go the NZ equivalent is the mighty George D. Henderson (as The Puddle)

I have heard of the Grifters before, but it's bedtime so I will delve later.
That link was from the Hermits' last album, very heavy 70s influenced. Their earlier stuff was more indie pop/rock.
