I saw 3 plus a generic robot in the top 5 and a full majority of SciFi themed parody in the first page.

but these are the cultural icons of several generations - who are we to judge?

Several generations have not passed since the last time this compo aired, unless we're talking about insects.
So, we're going to get a lot of the same crap (by which I mean Star Wars images crow-barred into old paintings) again.
This offends me; and incidentally I'm pretty sure it offends my cats, they're just too lazy to moan about it.

I was trying to say that the confluence of popular Science Fiction/Fantasy images and conceptual parody is going to be a continuing theme at places like B3TA - they are obvious, sometimes, but probably just as relevant as commercial products, TV, pop music, or political icons.

I am as guilty as many others here for going for the quick Star Wars reference, but I am sometimes very "I Like This!" for a well done funny twist on the old saws.
