i'm sure the museum will be awarebut there are a number of schemes, charaties and grants that might boost the fund. The National Heritage Lottery Fund was very good to us, but there are many others.

Yep, but they have to raise at least £80,000 in donations before they unlockother funding :(

Again,I am sure they know this (it looks a lot bigger than my museum) but it always worth approaching the bigger museums. the V&A are quite generous, and the British Museum also has been known to help. If it looks like an artefact might go abroad, they sometimes cough up a bit.
