you don't, you optimize to filesizeand it goes through reducing the number of colours until it finds the best one.
Often though it is just far better to reduce the overall image size.

In the optimisation panelsee where there's a number, probably 256? Click there, and pick a lower number.
What's really shot you in the foot for making this a smaller pic is all those icons and that flashy wallpaper...
