# Just messing
with rotations

Click BIG biggie!

Sorry for the phantom window moving at the start. Ovenreaddy was doing silly things & I'd spent too long on this already!

/edit forgot to say tis my first ever piece of kitty shopping!

# tell him to stop it...
he`s fucking up the rotation.

# Erk
your small pic is still about 100K over what's really accepted as "postable"... you need to resize some more, or maybe drop some more colours.

That window jiggle's not doing you any favours either, but it looks good after the first run - like the window's settling back in place.

# True

But I'd seen other say about 300 was ABSOLUTE max, so thought I'd go for 280!
I'll take another look at it.

# during the day time you can get away with
slightly bigger files, as most people's work have good connections.

# I have to ask
how do you lower the number of colours in ovenready?
(, Mon 7 Apr 2003, 23:00, archived)
# you don't, you optimize to filesize
and it goes through reducing the number of colours until it finds the best one.
Often though it is just far better to reduce the overall image size.
edit:If I was at work I'd send you a screen shot of where it is in imageready, but it's late, I'm stoned, and lazy

# In the optimisation panel
see where there's a number, probably 256? Click there, and pick a lower number.

What's really shot you in the foot for making this a smaller pic is all those icons and that flashy wallpaper...

# Cheers
Done it, 64 colours - 139K with 10% lossy compression.

Bit better!

# variation on Emule
which is a variation on kazaa, which is a variation on napster, which is a variation on ftp, which is a variation on "answers on the back of a postcard", which is a variation on "take this message to the king, pick up fresh horses where you can", which is a variation on greeks running to Marathon...

# It's like Kazaa
but different. I don't trust it, or Kazaa, or any of those programs.

Nice work. I've never seen a 4.2MB gif before.
