i use coffee cup ftp at home

yup all id os

all i do in IE is type into the address bar

ftp://myserveer.smoeserver.com/

then it asks me to log in and i tcik remeber. that's all i ever do

from work it does an automatic anonymous login as the proxy server doesn't allow a full connection, so it never prompts for my username and password

hmmm

if you go into options of i.e. then advanced..
tyr ticking use http 1.1 throuhg proxy connections.
if that fiails switch it off again go to your control panelk and have a look for WSproxy
Wproxy WFproxy or proxy and play around with those settings....
the otehr thing that might have happend is previsouly somone has tried ftp on your machien with ie and select anonymous login AND do not ask me again.
You could try getting round that by resotring deafults in IE (but take a record of what they are now0
