I admitted to myself that I don't have that level of self-regulating control around booze
so I just didn't drink at all.

I drove back from the hospital in the snow after 19 or more hours of Mrs Chutney squeezing through the night
Got in made a coffee, poured a glass of whisky, sat at the kitchen table.... then woke up face down on the same table 5 hours later with both cup and glass still in front not a sip taken from either.

When my first was born after 36 hours...
...I got home at 4am and had the largest G&T I've ever drunk, as the sun came up.
I fell asleep, only to be woken at 7am by the missus saying "Are you coming in then or what". Fortunately the hospital was a short walk from the house.
My second is due in 4 weeks, but now the hospital is miles away :(
