when I was at school, it was 25p (for a child) for a 5 mile journey from village to town

but they are nothing compared to the rest of the country.
At my mum's it costs £2 for a journey I could walk in 15 mins
(i had to bus it cos mum was with me, and she's got a free bus pass so won't walk anywhere)

what's also a waste, is I got a jumpstart on the bus this morning, due to being impatient, and walked the first half a mile, before the bus turned up, and it still cost the same as it would had I waited in the shelter and read my book. But still, it was good exercise, even though I got soaked.
