I wrote a script to do that in PS, I was going to pass it on to you, but I don't think you can use scripts in the same way in paintshop.

This is,
full black to white
half black to white
quarter black to white
eighth black to white. As you can see the bands are difficult to get wide. I think I use 32 frames or something sporty.
