See, now it looks like they preserve housecatsyou can't win, really. I thought maybe go back to the previous version of the eye, but make the beaky bits round-ended instead of pointy?
(By which I mean that I don't much like the eyelashes version. It looks less like a pheasant now, but less like a cat's eye, too, and it still looks somewhat like a pheasant, only hairier.)
