# It does if you read
The Dark Tower series.
Most of King's books are linked together through The Dark Tower.

# Fuck am I reading all of those
I read the goddamn cunting Tommyknockers and it wasn't until I'd finished that I realised I could have skipped the middle two-thirds of the book without missing anything of any import. King's later books are so full of shitty filler that everything happens in the first and last chapters. The Dark Tower books (of which there seem to be about 100) are all at least 4 inches thick. Fuck that.

Besides, any film that requires the defence "well it makes sense if you read the book" has failed utterly as a film. I shouldn't have to read the book to make sense of what I've just seen, the film should stand or fall on its own merit.
