The Auctions should only happen at B3ta bashes, such as (for example) The London bash (or whatever looks to be the biggest bash over a 12 month period). This gives it a focus and people can actually do the bidding / socialising thing all at once.

But yes.
Also - this year's was a bit off the cuff. Very successful, like, but a bit more advance planning could have seen some of the serious heavy hitters of b3ta come up with some bespoke pieces of the auction, and generate even further interest. Maybe get some of the old school re-engaged.
A one-off DTH or IVV for example, would probably go for a fortune.

Plus, If I do produce something specifically for an auction at a bash, then I might ACTUALLY get to attend one of the blooming things.

the auctions items were largely won by people who had gazzed their bids rather than those in the pub.
The raffle was great though. I won a Game Boy.

might be worth combining fleabay/online auction with the bash.
That way everyone gets to bid, outsiders from b3ta can also see the pics and bid and no drunken bidding
Then buyers can collect from the bash or get the pic posted out
