I think things like that are fucking awesome.
We once found some hidden away in a desert in Arizona. Most are protected now, or at least in national parks, but these were just there at the top of a rock mound we climbed in the open desert. Seriously gave me shivers finding them.

you know, there's an ancient burial chambers about 5-7 miles from my house called 'the four knocks' and i still haven't been in it! you just have to get a key from the farmer who owns the land

i was also present when they found one of them rocks with swirly carvings at my beach just a few yards from my house. i often wonder how much more of them are down there.
