I took lots of photos in a real desert, and none of them came out any good.

CLICK FOR BIGGER

some of them did contain a roadrunner!
One of the places we visited, there were a bunch of prarie dogs living in holes in the ground. We watched them for a while and then a roadrunner ran past us and chased one of them.
Roadrunners are supposed to be pretty shy, and as far as I know they don't hunt prarie dogs. Maybe it was confused, I don't know. I do know that it wasn't very photogenic though, at least not for me.

Here is some ancient art made in a cave in the desert. It's one of my favourite things to look at, one day I'll travel to see it.

I think things like that are fucking awesome.
We once found some hidden away in a desert in Arizona. Most are protected now, or at least in national parks, but these were just there at the top of a rock mound we climbed in the open desert. Seriously gave me shivers finding them.

you know, there's an ancient burial chambers about 5-7 miles from my house called 'the four knocks' and i still haven't been in it! you just have to get a key from the farmer who owns the land
it's got this thing going on inside t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTfkXGAkx4uGPlUz6ajVPZgFS863hZE30XFWMkkXoGHVHbwHGYq8w
i was also present when they found one of them rocks with swirly carvings at my beach just a few yards from my house. i often wonder how much more of them are down there.
