same with Doherty, oxygen thieves living the dream.
In some ways glad it's ended this way to show the lifestyle's obvious failings as an aspiration.
Can't deny she had a damn fine voice when she was sober enough to use it tho, so there's some truth to the 'tortured artist' label.

I know some great artists out there do or did drugs (for example, Kurt Cobain), but they didn't make it their defining characteristic, like the select few.
And being critical here, I didn't really like Winehouse's music that much, but I guess that's just me. But seeing it from a universal standpoint, I agree that she did have a good voice when she felt like actually making music.
