If what they've said is true (and I see no reason to quarrel with it)then it is likely that our continued manipulation of the environment might put increased pressure on other species to survive, thereby triggering further evolution among them than might otherwise be the case.

I can see where you're coming from.With all the deforestation and whatnot, animals, even as we speak, are evolving; maybe not physically but they are adapting to their ever-changing habitat.
