You can see the abdomen and thorax at the bottom of the picture, and a really long neck, with one of the mandibles resting against it, the other impaling a... thing.
At least that's my understanding of it.

You know some experts reckon this is as far as humans are going to evolve, as we are building our world to suit us so well?

then it is likely that our continued manipulation of the environment might put increased pressure on other species to survive, thereby triggering further evolution among them than might otherwise be the case.
(if that makes any sense)

With all the deforestation and whatnot, animals, even as we speak, are evolving; maybe not physically but they are adapting to their ever-changing habitat.

Flies -- I will try and usually succeed in opening the door to let them back out.
Ants are very helpful when my son comes to visit for the weekend. They carry off the crumbs and what-not that have fallen in those hard to reach areas.
Fortunately, I live in a clean multi-dwelling now, and have not had problems with anything in the roach family

EDIT: and true, the cord is not much more than 125% the diameter of a pencil, so it is a bit small.
When it was in my mouth, the legs would only reach from the left molars to just about 1/2-way across my tongue

Small, but tasty!
