I was thinking about it.
Never done anything like that before. Worth doing a set just to sell to a card company perhaps? Not keen on them owning the image rights to some of my faves.

Or just publish some of your own and flog em to clintons or birthdays or whatever the others are called.

If the card companies express an interest, you're clearly on to something.
Try doing it for yourself and approach the 'Focus' style shops.
They'll often take local artist's cards and display them alongside the larger company-produced ones.
And you don't have to make a print run of thousands - do a limited run for Christmas 2011 and see what cash/feedback you get.
If it works, best of luck. If not, you can still sell the images to the card companies.
