I totally stopped with the whole video/after effects gubbins when I quit my job with videos etc. Primarily because my laptop is gash and could load after effects after about 10 minutes, but clicking anything led to full motherboard meltfuck.

My previous work computer was gooood

you can create an animated mask to create a garbage/junk matte for chroma key work making it easier on the program to key out the background (green screen or Blue Screen)

I did a tutorial on junk mattes for the tidying up, but doing lots of work on specific thing without actually widely learning about the stuff has perhaps resulted in my current, or recent, ignorance.
