Very much this.I once travelled the length of the old Route 66 and have never met such hospitality and genuine interest in strangers. The only rude people I ever encountered were in cities, but even then they were rare.

I met some lovely people out in rural Pennsylvania.It was only the shower of pissflaps I worked for that spoilt it.
