Sometimes I can feel them crawling in my mattressSharp pinlike digs against my back like acupuncture like a careful massage and I relax into the mattress and I close my eyes and a sharp pain in the base of my spine wakes me up and I try and scream and it falls into my mouth oh God is it a cockroach a spider a mess of web hairy legs flail against my face and oh God it stabs my eye blackened and furred and triple-jointed and I feel the other legs they slam into my Adam's apple and they plug my ears and they jab my eyes and I choke and I feel the pincers on my tongue oh God oh God it's got too many legs I feel them on my tongue under my tongue they pull my epiglottis and I gag and I throw up on it and it doesn't care it fills my mouth and I feel the sharp pins gouging a hole in my spine and my legs don't work and I try and throw up and oh God oh God
