it featured a single very drawn out scene (maybe 10 minutes) of someone giving birth to faeces that did very unpleasant things.

It was all done in the most unbelievably serious and meticulous way.

genuinely unnerving, mainly because he saw nothing wrong with presenting it as his sole piece of demonstrative work.

still, it does require skill to bring life and intent to freshly front bottomed excrement, I'm sure the maker of that showreel was justifyably proud. (and today in prison).
