Actually the first chorus makes sense although the second chorus is a little puzzlingmaybe the second chorus is a take upon the fact that kids theseday are hooked on the dream of being pop stars rather than doing the mundane jobs they hate so much. That's just a wild stab at the meaning but I've never been great at interpreting symbolic meaning in lyrics.
