have you tried deleting ALL history? (google cache)
just a thought ,but if you've never performed this it could well be the cache memory that is taking what seems like space from your hard drive.You can delete cache from the beginning when windows was installed.I have a hunch this is full....I maybe off target ,not sure.Either way it will do it good,even if it doesn't solve it.
edit:failing that-re-install windows... can easily be guided through that.That sorts everything :)
i was eventualy just gonna point you to a linux live disc that works but didn't wanna scare ya. your pooter's capable of way more than it is delivering 'tinternet wise.
